Despite the throw up, split lip incident and blow out diapers I battled today at work I still love my job. I feel so very fortunate to have finally found a school Ohana and am desperately trying to remind myself of this today after such a challenging, tear filled (mine and the babes) afternoon of ups and down. Not only do our parents show us their appreciation with morning malasadas, afternoon cupcake surprises, donated materials and time in the classroom but we also have a formal Teacher Appreciation Week. Seriously how sick is that? It breaks down a little something like this:
Monday: Teacher breakfast buffet
Tuesday: Flower Day where each child brings a flower for their teacher to create a beautiful mixed bouquet. I especially loved this because it was as unique as each of their little personalities and who doesn’t love flowers?!
Wednesday: Teacher lunch buffet
Thursday: Teacher Favorite things basket
Friday: A surprise put on by the school director for all the teachers
Umm can you say SPOILED? Yeah, even on days like today I still feel pretty lucky. Not only do I get to work with a great group of women but I get to love on and snuggle five little ones who can’t ever seem to get enough kisses or tickles
Not a bad gig….

Got another chance to peak at the baby yesterday! In two weeks it’s gone from a chubby marshmallow to a lanky little thing. The due date was bumped up a week because he/she is growing so fast!
Heather and the doctor thought they saw a little wiener but it’s still too early to be sure. We have another appointment next week that should provide some great photos, along with a look at the goodies!

… well we actually won’t know that for another month or so. It’s our baby though and it’ll be making its worldly debut late January!
Time to start throwing out names ya’ll — we’re leaning towards Ponte Spring Mohr at this point, after the season it was conceived and the case of wine Heather had just finished the day she found out she was pregnant. Whoops!

Of course we’re just kidding on the name! And the wine!
Heather and I are trying to get a product made on Quirky.com. Head over to the site and vote for our idea if you think it’s the best!

Nevermind that their new house is absolutely gorgeous, has an ocean and Diamond Head view, amazing pool and yard, ONE of my absolute favorite things about Mike and Winnie’s new house is that it is in an actual neighborhood.
Like you can park your car on the street without circling for 20 minutes, the mail comes in a real mailbox by a little mailman in a mail truck and you can do laundry in your own house!! No more hassle of putting in coin after coin and checking on it every 10 minutes for fear that someone will take out your wets and leave them sitting on top of the dryer- it’s amazing!
Don’t get me wrong I absolutely LOVE where Ryan and I live- no complaints here but it is the small things about being in a house that we had forgotten about. We have so been enjoying our weekend trips to the Portlock house where we get to “play house”, take care of the plants, check on the cat (she adopted us I swear), watch t.v., cook dinner in a kind- o-f sort- of full size oven (haha ok the house has it’s quirks) but it has truly been so much fun for us!
This past weekend we spent the day getting rolled at Sandy’s beach and relaxing pool side, staying up late watching movies on the big cozy couch and waking up early for more beach time and evening strolls around the neighborhood.
We are so lucky! Check out these pics from around the house:

Ry and I have our eye on this abandoned boat house…maybe in a few zillion years we will be living on the hill too!

So much fun sharing such a beautiful place together!

Stay tuned for our “secret spot” we don’t want to spoil the Mother’s Day surprise for Winnie
I’ve been working hard on a special wedding bunting for my best friend Jaime’s big day and wanted to share a sneak peek! It is going to say, “Love Birds” and each letter will be cut out of felt and hand stitched onto little squares of fun fabrics. I was planning on using Jaime’s wedding colors for the sign but came across the cutest little bird fabric and used it as my inspiration. I think the sign will be great for pictures and even cuter hanging in their new house!

Don’t you just love the little birdies kissing? (never mind that one is missing his beak in this picture heehee)

Yeah after that last post I was feeing pretty confident only to be brought back down. I found a “quick and easy” sugar cookie recipe on the internet in hopes of using up the last of my flour/sugar before the next store run. I was hoping to round out that amazing dinner with some sugar cookies with a lime hinted glaze and ended up with these flat, oily, frisbee like excuses for dessert. Thumbs way way down for Heather on this one….BOOOO!
