There have been a LOT of changes to our boat lately. Ryan has been slaving away working on an engine that refuses to cooperate and I have been busy scrubbing, polishing and tidying up the place. We have made some major improvements over the past few weeks and even took Sundance out on her maiden voyage last night!
Here is a peek into our log book:
11/14- Purchased boat
11/15- Bilge pump re-wired, cabin scrubbed and bleached for mold
11/16- Registered with DOBOR. New shore hose. Replaced dock and fender lines.
11/21- Replaced cabin liner. New dual-pupose batteries. installed new pro-sport battery charger.
11/22- Oil changed
11/29- Replaced spark plugs. Removed and cleaned carburetor and fuel pump.
12/01- Replaced fuel pump sediment bowl washer with cork gasket
12/05- Replaced ignition coil and wired. Installed electric ignition system. ENGINE RUNNING! Terrible knocking sound….
12/12- REplaced water pump impeller. Stripped, cleaned exterior wood. Installed second battery.
12/17- Engine overhauled. Decarboned and cleaned cylinders and cylinder headed. Cleaned all valved and valve guides. Replaced all valve springs. Replaced valve keepers on valves. Replaced spring retainers. Repainted engine.
12/18- Reassembled engine. Replaced water jacket side cover. Replaced all fuel and water hoses.
12/19- New main and jib halyards. Also replaced traveller lines. MAIDEN Voyage. Spent 4 hours at Queens Emergency Room. (more on this later)
