I’m signed up and on my way to raising $1,000 big ones towards Hawaii’s Special Olympics fund! Thank you to those of you who have contributed to this great organization and towards my big adventure of going over the edge!
If I meet my fundraising goal I will be rappelling down the Sheraton Waikiki– the largest structure in Waikiki at 315 feet. This is a once in a lifetime experience and the very first time Special Olympics or the Sheraton Waikiki has put on a fundraiser of this kind. On November 14th I will hopefully be dressing up in an awesome spiderman costume and dangling from the air alongside Uncle Glen, Bill and Bill’s daughter Lauren!!
If you want to contribute towards my fundraising goal you can donate at:

Or you can send a check (just make sure to include my name in the memo portion so I get credited the donation) to:

Fisherman’s Wharf, scavenger hunts, “Bigger or Better, Alacatraz, Haight and Ashbury, Ghiradelli Square, thrift stores and old 50’s diners…we did it all!

If you’re in to checking out and staying in hostels, you should definitely check out the Marin Headlands home, this hostel was gorgeous! Not only were we minutes away from the Golden Gate bridge and the quant town of Sausalito but we were able to work on another great service project. This time our group was given the task of painting and aiding in the restoration of Battery Mendel. We put on our fashionable Tyveck suits and went to work on a historic building that needed a great deal of attention.

“Yosemite Valley, to me, is always a sunrise, a glitter of green and golden wonder in a vast edifice of stone and space.”

Tuolumne Meadows is a magical place. There is a certain calmness and peace that this amazing area vibrates through anyone willing to open themselves up to it’s spell. I was absolutely most at peace and happy during our time in Tuolumne and I can’t wait to go back. I’m begging Ryan to make a stop here next time we are back in California…it’s too good to keep all to myself and I want to share this amazing place with him! You should check it out if you have the chance!

AAVE!

Incredible! Hiking, swimming, bike riding…Yosemite was an absolute trip highlight (I feel like I say that a lot!)

Incredible natural water slides!

While picking up around camp I found this letter blowing in the wind, it reads:
Dear Eric and Heather,
What’s up? By the time you read this, something was done…WATCH OUT!!!!
Love,
You’re lovely campers
P.S.
Time will tell…
We still never really solved this mystery but it made for some good laughs and fun speculating as to what our “angels” may have done!

Hanging around camp was absolutely my favorite times throughout the trip. No deadlines, no rush, just fun sitting around the fire, cooking dinner together and goofing off…Oh, and if you’ve never played the game “Assassin” you have to try it at your next party!
