One more good guy that’ll never be able to run for office…
Yup, they even call him “Pinky”!
It’s been a rough week around here for the kitties. I’ve been putting this post off for a few days now, mostly due to denial. Here is the bad news….Mrs. Jeffrey has gone missing. She’s been gone a little over a week now and we’re afraid she might be gone for good. Stray kitties don’t fair too well out here in the country and Jeffrey never missed an opportunity to eat at our doorstep. She would wake us up eat morning, crying on the door step for some kittie food or a rare veggie pattie (weird..I know, but the cats love them!) On top of Jeffrey’s strange disappearance, Mr. Clyde has been injured. He showed up crying on our doorstep with a bloody eye, some stray whiskers (he’s always been an odd looking fellow but this was BAD!). After making a few pirate jokes we realized that Mr. Clyde needed some serious vet attention and so we called SPCA. The good folks at the humane society drove all the way out to our house to rescue poor Clyde. He is now safe in Waikiki, getting the medical attention that he needs and we are waiting for an update. This whole fiasco reminds me why we don’t have animals, yet who can turn and walk away from a poor helpless, injured little friend?
Picture of Mr. Clyde (yucky and not for the squimish a.k.a. Ryan)

Mr. Clyde, this video is for you…a little humor to add to our depressing situation:
We’re not ready for a farewell post for Jeffrey yet…keep her in your thoughts!
Well it’s official, we are both “mid-twenties” now! Good news is we don’t feel any older or any more responsible than we did during the following years. Recent opinion is that we are actually heading in the opposite direction of our calendar years…
Heather’s 25th was full of surprises and fun! Ryan scheduled a surprise aerobatics adventure in a glider plane off of Kaena point followed by a perfect swell and lots of good grinds. We’ll post the video of the glider plane craziness and here are some photos of the day.
Thanks to everyone for the birthday love!
25!!!

He is…BBQ man!

Waves!

The three amigos (I love this picture!)

and a perfect sunset to top things off!

Yup, that’s Dobber out catching waves!!! We’ve finally turned him!

Did I mention the TWO delicious cakes that we managed to polish off? Thanks Mike and Winnie!

I’ve gone mad, tie-dye mad that is! Hide your socks, shirts, underwear and anything else that I might get my hands on!

But aren’t these baby onesies adorable?

We have such awesome roommates and we were so lucky to enjoy a lazy beach day together this past weekend. It’s pretty unusual that we all manage to have the same day off or even the same couple of hours off together and took advantage of our great fortune by hopping around the island and soaking up some sun. These photos are from the last few excursions that we have had together: an afternoon at Mokuleia playing driftwood baseball, checking out the huge waves at Waiamea, enjoying Keiki beach and a few water shots with Dobber’s new underwater digital camera!

The message is pretty simple: Be kind to one another. Today, I feel as if the universe is shining down on me and I am smiling back! Today I felt overwhelming happy, content and loved. I feel like a good person. I feel all of these things but this entry isn’t about how awesome I feel or how awesome I am (we all know how awesome I am and if not check out my previous entry about being super cool), it’s about being kind and receiving the blessings that come from simple acts of kindness.
Everyone knows that I have a job that I don’t enjoy all that much. However, I try my hardest to find points throughout the day that can keep me sane and coming in for a meager paycheck. From Mary and Will the sailing couple with SEVEN kids, to Rick the butler who once worked for Frank Sinatra and is the definition of humility and kindness, to Gerry the horny, well traveled, Coor’s Lite drinker to Sky the modern day pirate with as much mystery and awe as Davey Jones himself, to Sonny the sweet and amazing dancing machine; I have found my crew of regulars who without knowing it brighten my day and who often bring me gifts of chocolate! More than their fudge and almond joys, I enjoy their company, their stories and the fact that they help break up the monotony of my day. I feel grateful for each and everyone of them.
Today was unusual because I was blessed with a visit from each and every one of them! A phone call from Sonny that brought me to tears as he told me that he had been carting a small Christmas gift for me around for weeks hoping that we would cross paths, to Rick telling me that he had fallen in love with me and was searching for an antidote to Will encouraging me to follow my dreams of owning a boat and even a stranger who had a rough day and gave me a dozen roses for helping him out….it was an incredible day with one surprise after the next!
Days like these are a blessing and make me feel as if I am bursting with love! I am so lucky to be where I am, surrounded by such incredibly kind and giving individuals. Each one of these folks remind me to slow down, enjoy your time and those around you and most importantly to be kind! Will and Mary, Rick, Gerry, Sky, and Sonny will never read this and as much as I tell them how much they mean to me, I doubt they will really know just how much they bring a smile to my face.
Aren’t they beautiful- thanks stranger!
