With the wild swings we’ve been experiencing in the market the past few months (and especially the past two weeks), I decided it was time to make some fun out of it. And so, without further explaining, it is time for …
The Market Madness Mustache!!!

I’ll be keeping (and growing!) that baby until the market calms down (when the VIX closes below 20). And guess what? I’m not the only one partaking in the fun. Heather came out of the bathroom this morning to surprise me with this beauty:

With a ’stache like that, we had to take some group photos.

Since the camera was out and we already looked ridiculous, we decided to try out a few shake face photos (unfortunately Heather couldn’t stop smiling to relax her cheeks so she’s without a good shake face photo…)

I could immediately tell I got a good one when Heather burst into laughter like this after reviewing the photo…

If anyone wants to join in on the Market Madness Mustache (or just has a good shake face photo!) send us your pics and we’ll add them to the post.
Thought we would share these amazing pictures of our friends Trace and Lisa’s awesome boat. We left with a renewed passion for living on the water and have been trying to figure out how to get one of our own ever since!
Looking in towards the main living room

Upstairs on the “dance floor” which included a lighted platform!!!

Dance party down stairs (disco ball and all)

Same area before the dancing

Beautiful view of the city

and sunset

The view is even more incredible at night (we watched the fireworks from up top)

It didn’t occur to us how busy we have been until late last night! You might not believe us after our last post (basically about doing nothing), so let’s do a re-cap:
March- Grandma/Grandpa, Kendra/Cole, Jeff/Kelly, Mike/Winnie came out to visit us
April- We bought a condo and took a trip to California to celebrate Jeff’s 21st birthday!
June- Our anniversary
July- Matt Cooke, Jeff/Kelly, Dobber came out to visit us
August- Jaime, Dobber, Mom/Dad, Mike/Winnie came to visit us
September- We flew to California for Rich and Annie’s wedding, Heather left for Germany
October/November- Ryan, Bobby and Dobber turn our Hawaii home into a bachelor pad while Heather works oversees
December- Heather returns from Europe, we have a total of 4 Christmas events and a ton of driving up and down California
January- We kick the New Year off with a bang and then head back to Hawaii, Heather’s aunt and uncle spend their anniversary on island, Dobber is back on island, Mike and Winnie come out to visit, Uncle Steve comes out to visit, Heather’s birthday
See what we mean! We’ve had an incredible year, it’s gone by so fast and we’re looking forward to a major slow down and all the visitors we have to come! Here are some pictures from the last few week of visitors:
A major swell hit the North Shore (so big they almost held the Eddie)

Still a little too big to go out….

We managed a few lazy beach days in between our crazy schedule

And a gorgeous hike up to Ka’Iwi to check on the whales

Enjoying a picnic at the top!

We saw about three whales this afternoon- a good sign that they are on their way!

It was so nice to come back to Hawaiian sunsets, warm weather and waves. We spent our first few days home on the North Shore with Dobber not doing much of anything at all (the occasional surf, and venture off of the beach to get food was about it). Our first week home was pretty uneventful…just the way we like it!

Everything was peaceful until the sharks showed up!

What’s there to say, we don’t really remember it! Just a few teaser photos for you..if you want to see the entire night in photos check out:

We topped out at 5 Christmas gatherings this year and our bellies can prove it! Lots of photos with my NEW CAMERA…thanks Ry!

Full of Holiday Cheer!

December 15th was one of the happiest days of my life! I was greeted at luggage claim by Ryan, grinning, holding white roses and wearing an elephant sweater. Before I left I attempted to draw an elephant on our white board with the saying, “an elephant never forgets”…just to make sure he didn’t forget me while I was gone! Well he didn’t and being the clever guy he is, he had a sweatshirt made in honor of my coming home.
Before our hectic holiday schedule began, we decided to spend a few days in San Francisco. The weather was cold but we managed to stay warm with the delicious clam chowder and hot chocolate at Pier 39. It was so nice to be together again, alone and away from everything for a few days. We even saw the Nutcracker (a family tradition of mine!)

Think this would fit under our tree?
