Heather and I spent Saturday up at Ehukai beach and managed to get some photos for you with her newly replaced camera.  The surf wasn’t great and the lineups were choked, but it’s always fun to paddle out for a few waves.   You just have to watch out for the hardcore locals like the guy below:

Tough locals

The sharks can get you too if you’re not careful…

Pipeline had a few decent ones but there is a ton of sand on the beach right now that is causing a nasty backwash on the bigger sets.

Meanwhile over at Rocky Point…

Think it was any good?  Decide for yourself…

And a day in country isn’t complete without the sunset…

The disease has a formal name but it’s long and hard to pronounce — it’s called Ikanthilp Wokinrowndnaycad.  Just recently I’ve been noticing things have gotten much worse.  My only hope is that it’s a common problem that can be easily cured.  I’ve been doing some research and it appears the disease is most common in older folks, especially those that are recently married.  Also, living without roommates greatly increases your chances of coming down with Ikanthilp Wokinrowndnaycad.  I don’t want you to be surprised if you come down with it, so here are a few more facts.  If you are still in college and do not live by yourself, your chances of coming down with the disease are slim to none (although a drunken night does increase your susceptibility).  Older couples with kids may come down with a very heavy case of Ikanthilp as their last one heads off to college, but at this point the disease is more like an old friend coming home than it is something to be afraid of.  If you notice your neighbors in the building next to you (especially those a few floors up) giving you confused looks of disgust, you’ve likely come down with a bad case of Wokinrowndnaycad and just don’t know it yet (otherwise you’d probably have the blinds closed to hide the fact that you have such a horrible disease).  For those that are married, signs of a severe outbreak are being kept out of the kitchen and told to keep off of select pieces of furniture.

Most of ours posts include some photos, but this one wont.  The disease is VERY visible, but is much too graphic for a blog like this.  We sincerely apologize, but we would hate to scare the younger generation out of growing up, in fear of coming down with Ikanthilp Wokinrowndnaycad.

The anticipation grew day by day until finally Halloween arrived. No longer college students we were a bit lost this year trying to figure out where we fit in. We don’t have kids to take trick or treating, we’re no longer in a town where house parties rage, and we simply don’t know where the “cool” bars are at. To our surprise the party found us. Spilling out onto the streets of Waikiki were thousands…THOUSANDS of crazed “Halloweeners” dressed up in the most clever costumes we had ever seen. “Chick Magnet”, “Birthday Barbie”, his and hers “light sockets”, “Sailors”, “ninjas”…the list goes on and on!

After finding a Tigger costume at Costco for $10.00, and some minor alterations (cutting it in half and sewing it up the back) Heather had her costume for a day at work.

Once 10 O’clock rolled around the party really started. A quick change and Ryan and Heather were no more…
