Or do, and join us! Heather and I wanted to see how long we could hold our breath while swimming underwater, so we did a test. The result? Both of us were dying for air at 15 seconds! As a surfer, I’m totally ashamed of myself (though it is way harder to hold your breath for a long time while actively swimming, than it is to do it on the couch — I tried it on the couch last night and got over a minute). Unfortunately, you don’t wipe out from your couch all that often. We both want to be able to hold our breath for much longer, so we set up a routine:

Everyday we go out for a swim with my watch and swim down to the bottom for the day’s length (see below for our current length). The goal is to reach a minute and a half in five weeks, by adding two seconds to our time each day.
The question is… can we do it? A minute and a half is a long time to be swimming around… Bets anyone?
As of Sunday the 8th, we are now at: 40 seconds swimming, 2:00 on the couch! Adding two seconds is starting to get harder though, so we are going to hang out at 40 (just about half way to our goal) for a few days.
Since Heather was a bit shy with the photos the first time, here is a tour of our new place with some much larger photos:
Come on in…

The stainless steel purple kitchen. Love it.

One inconvenience of living in the city… roaches! We have to keep the trash off the floor and take it out every night. Sometimes, when we’re lazy, we’ll just throw it in the freezer though.

Color makes everything more enjoyable… wouldn’t you say?

Who knew there was an Ikea in Hawaii? Oh wait… there’s not! Our landlord pretty much had the whole bathroom shipped over from the mainland.

The guardians of the bedroom

Looking over the futon at the bedroom…

Horrible picture of Heather and her bleeding finger…

Welcome to Cafe Mohr

Living room from the hallway…

Looking over the breakfast bar…

The “office”… all work and no play (yeah right!)

The “board room”. We’re hoping to build a rack out of bamboo and then throw some comfy chairs back there.
Thanks for taking the tour!
Here are some pictures of our cozy apartment! A special thanks to Mike & Winnie for lugging all of our stuff over here.
